How Does Traffic Affect You?

Does your child go to school or play near a busy road? Do you or your child suffer from asthma or another health problem that is traffic-related? Tell us about your experience.

Your story will help us demonstrate how much people care about clean air and congestion relief.

Our staff share their stories

Lisa Moore, High Meadows Scientist

"I live in a relatively quiet area, so you'd think I wouldn't have a traffic story to share. Unfortunately, in my neighborhood we have a lot of idling vehicles.

Whether it's a paratransit van or an ice cream truck, I worry about the emissions. I can close my windows, but there's a playground across the street. Every day, there are dozens of small children breathing in the fumes."

Michael Replogle, Transportation Director

"Last winter, my wife and I were trying to get from our hotel near Grand Central Station to a Broadway play. We had but 20 minutes to curtain time.

If we had waited for a cab, we would have missed half the play while stuck in traffic. Thank God for pedicabs! Our driver swept us across town, almost silently bypassing long queues of stalled traffic.
