The short explanation of this alert was:

America currently imports nearly 60% of the oil we use. At current rates of growth, America's oil demand will rise more than 50% in the next 20 years. Much of this demand will likely be met by importing more oil.

America already possesses the technology to dramatically reduce our dependence on imported oil. We need political leadership to tackle this important issue.

Help reduce our foreign oil dependence! Ask your Representative to co-sponsor House Resolution 971, an energy security bill calling on Congress to pass legislation to slow, stop and ultimately reverse the growth of our dependence on imported oil.
